Imagine the
world without authority! It will be on disaster we wouldn’t like to experience.
Imagine living in a realm where a man can just enter your house and steal your
belongings without any conscious; where a man can just rape you/your
mother/wife/sister/daughter/granddaughter/niece/friend etc. without any
conscious. Yes the realm where your sister can just sleep with your father or a
married man next door without conscious, where your older/little brother/sister
can just take drugs in the presence of you parents or maybe rob people openly.
That is the world without AUTHORITY.
People hate
authority and God did not make a mistake when He created authority and placed
us under it. Authority begins with an institution called a family. The bible
states “Honour your mother and father”—which is
the first commandment with a promise: This is one major authority any human
being should master for the goodness of the world. This right here is the
authority every elder shouldn’t neglect but exercise it to the fullest; it is
the strongest foundation of good moral in the human nature.
Now have you ever sat yourself down and ask yourself if you
love authority? How then do you know
that you love authority? Note that everyone loves something only if it favours
them. E.g. you want your kids to listen and obey everything you instruct them;
you don’t like it when your child grow stubborn and talk back at you or not
listen to you. But the question is have you listened and obeyed your parents or
you also just did not want to hear it? Well let me help you to face the truth.
Know that if you have an attitude that 9 out of 10 people have and that is
these words “You are not my mother/father” or as a question “who are you, my
father/father?” These remarks we mostly use them when words of
correction are fired our direction, and we don’t want to hear them. The truth
is the reason why you say these words; it’s because you don’t want to hear them
not even from your mother or father. It is a pure rejection of authority. Try
to correct a friend who sleeps with another man’s wife/husband, these words are
likely to spring up. The person who listened to his mother and father will hear
and remember taught morals. The bible says “My
son, do not forget my teachings and keep my commands in your heart, for they
will prolong your live many years and bring you peace and prosperity.”
~Proverbs 3:1-2.
So do not fool yourself,
the very same signs your child or your baby brother/sister shows you
when you bring forth words of correction (authority) it is still the very same
words you never wanted to hear yourself but tolerated them and now you are old
you can reject them boldly. That is why you can tell your very own mother/
father that you are no longer a child. This statement simply means I never wanted
to hear it.
We do not see the monster that we are nursing. From time to
time we see new generation worsening than the last. We live in the days where
we are encouraging wrong things. How many of us love using this statement “who
am I to judge/ who are you to judge me?” are we aware that we are silencing the
words of authority (high morals). It is more we say let people do as the wish.
There are somethings that are judged already therefore we cannot use the word
of God to defend them, but use the word of God to correct them. Jesus said “let
he who is without a sin cast the first stone,” He was calling for a righteous
judgement and there was none. Only Him and He said I do not condemn you
neither, GO AND SIN NO MORE. Yes He identified a judged sin and He spoke
correction upon it. Now who are we to reject correction in the name of “don’t
judge me?”
If we do not want to be judge then let us put ourselves under
judgement Romans 12:3. Let us be careful because the little things we overlook give birth to bigger things we would never want to even
look at.
