Don’t fail to
try in life (word to winners)
Life is a great
journey; it has its ups and downs, great moments and bad moments. Every human
being in this life has one vision (goal), and that is winning, no man is
designed to dream failure. However every now and then people take wrong
approach and make bad decisions and crucify they selves after. Making a bad
decision is not necessarily the end as there is a saying that says “it’s not
how you start but how you finish”. Life doesn’t start or end with a mistake.
Failure comes when fear rises above confidence, when people start caring about
who is watching and forsake their ability to try in the name of “what if I
fail”? What if I fail will always devour
your ability to try tomorrow. There is a biblical quote that says “weeping may
last for a night, but joy comes in the morning”. Do not give up your tomorrow.
I have compiled
a five well-known people who have gone through rough patches, rejections, let
down and pushed; but they had victorious tomorrow.
1
Michael Jordan (Most successful basketball star of all times)
Jordan was cut
from his high school basketball team. He states that it was a painful moment
that had him to go and cry in his room. But Jordan did not let this let down
stop him from playing the game he love. He grew to become one of the greatest
men to ever play the game. He at one point said "I
have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games.
On 26 occasions
I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I
missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why
I succeed."
2 Lucas Radebe (South Africa’s
most successful player)
Lucas had a successful career in South Africa playing for Kaizer
Chiefs and the moved to Leeds united in the English premier league. The deal to
move him to England was just to keep a player of their choice (Phil Masinga)
happy, initially the move was a success; as Radebe did not agree with then
Leeds manager Howard Wilkinson, and suffered injuries which prevented him from
earning a regular first team place. But all these setbacks did not stop Lucas
from changing his tomorrow. He came from all that to become the most valuable
investment for Leeds. He captained it and Leeds enjoyed a tasteful success.
From a man who was never a choice to a Leeds chief and darling.
3 Nelson Mandela (world’s
favourite state man)
This is the man who hoped for peace in the land of oppression
and racism. Though he suffered a lot in the hands of the oppressor and was
robbed much of his time (27 years imprisonment) his hope did not perish, his
ideal for a harmonic and racial free society did not wear out. He came from
that difficult time to become the world’s symbol of peace.
4 Albert Einstein (world known
intellect)
As a child, Einstein was dyslexic (he read letters backwards),
and he showed little scholastic abilities. He left school at 15 with no diploma
and poor grades in history, geography, and languages. At 16, when he first
applied to the
Polytechnic Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, he failed the
entrance exam. Einstein grew up to become on the greatest theoretical
physicists of all time, with one of the most creative intellects in human
history.
5 Steve Jobs (World known
entrepreneur and successful inventor)
Steve Jobs was removed from the company he started. Steve Jobs
was a college dropout, a fired tech executive and an unsuccessful businessman.
At 30-years-old he was left devastated after being unceremoniously removed from
the company he founded. In a 2005 at Stanford University, Jobs explained,
"I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was
the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being
successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure
about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my
life." After his return to Apple, Jobs created several iconic products,
including the iPod, iPhone and iPad, which have And Jobs became one of the
richest men in the world.
